Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using cookmelt (cookmelt.com), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Using our free crochet patterns

All patterns, stitch guides and tutorials on cookmelt are free for personal, non-commercial use. You are welcome to:

  • make the projects for yourself, as gifts or for charity;
  • print a copy of a pattern for your own use;
  • share a link to a pattern page, or pin it with its original image and a link back.

You may not copy, republish, translate, sell or distribute our patterns, written instructions or photos, in whole or in part, on other websites, social media, PDFs or printed collections without written permission.

Selling finished items

You may sell small quantities of finished items you have made by hand from our patterns, for example at craft fairs or in your own online shop. We kindly ask that you credit cookmelt as the pattern designer and link to the original pattern where possible. Mass production of items from our patterns is not permitted.

Copyright and intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, all content on cookmelt, including text, patterns, photos, graphics, logos and design, is owned by cookmelt and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The cookmelt name and logo may not be used without permission.

Comments and user content

When you leave a comment or send us a photo of your finished project, you confirm that it is your own work and give cookmelt permission to display it on the site. Please be kind and respectful. We may edit or remove any comment that is spam, offensive, off-topic or infringes the rights of others.

Accuracy of patterns

We test every pattern carefully, but mistakes can happen and results vary with yarn, hook size and tension. Patterns are provided “as is”. If you spot an error, please let us know through the contact page so we can fix it.

Safety notice

Some projects, such as amigurumi and toys, may include small parts like safety eyes or buttons that can be a choking hazard. Items for babies and young children should use embroidered features and be made and checked with care. You are responsible for the safety of the items you make.

Advertising and affiliate links

cookmelt is supported by advertising and may include affiliate links to yarn, hooks and tools. If you buy through these links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps keep every pattern free.

Our site may link to other websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

cookmelt is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, cookmelt is not liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from your use of the site or its content.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will be revised. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.
